§ 78-3. Exception for deer hunting.

  • The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to upland shooting by any person who has obtained the appropriate permits to hunt deer during a special deer season established by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This exception shall apply only to upland shooting in areas designated by the Board of Trustees at the time of establishment of the special deer season. In no event shall the provisions of this chapter apply under any circumstances to persons shooting nuisance and depredating deer pursuant to a nuisance deer permit issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. In all events, any person authorized by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation shall also be authorized by the Village, and no person shall discharge any bow and arrow or similar weapon except while carrying a permit issued by the Village of North Haven.
